Joshua turned the big 1 on Sunday. We celebrated his cousin Cole's birthday on Wednesday, and Terra gave Joshua a cupcake so we could sing to him also. I tried to upload the video I took of him pulling faces during our "Happy Birthday" song, but it wouldn't work. Too bad, it was awesome. We spoiled Joshua by giving him his own cupcake, a piece of Cole's cake, and some ice cream. We went to the Reary's house again on Sunday, where we had spaghetti and brownies. I should have taken a picture of his face after spaghetti; it was permanently orange.

| Tim went to Virginia for his Grandma's funeral. He got home just in time for Joshua's birthday. His family sent home a buttload of great presents for Joshua. This package had a cute pair of shoes. |

| Sunday's are always difficult as far as naps go, so Joshua was a grouch on his birthday. What a shock. |
 |
| My family was also very generous and gave Joshua some fun things. Here he is eating an important part of the xylophone the Higginbotham family gave him. |

The Waye family sent this panda Zoobie, which is a pillow and blanket all in one. As you can see, he likes to kiss it. I had mentioned to Becca that Joshua often walks around the house trying to kiss Lucky, so this present benefits both of them.
He also got a train, a hammer (he frequently carries it around the house), some goldfish (crackers, not real), some bubbles, a hippo that tries to eat the bubbles (which he is also obsessed with kissing because it sticks its tongue out at you and I guess he thinks the hippo is initiating something), one of those bead maze things that you see at doctor's offices, a ball popping toy, a lot of clothes, and 3 pairs of shoes. Thanks to everyone that got him stuff! |
We went to his 12-month appointment yesterday and his stats may surprise you:
Weight: 21 lbs 6 oz (25%)
Height: 31.5 inches (50%)
25 percentile for weight? That doesn't seem right. His pediatrician said "Don't be too worried about how skinny Joshua is. He'll probably gain some weight around 18 months." Well the words Joshua and skinny have never been in a sentence together, so that threw me for a loop. I guess that scale doesn't lie though.
