I really like this diaper bag by OiOi because it looks like a purse I would carry, and I don't want my diaper bag to look too diaper bag-ish. The problem with this one is that it is ridiculously expensive, so I will probably just dream about it instead of buy it.
I also like this bag by Kalencom, which is a brand I've never heard of. It is about half the price of the red one, so it is much more realistic.

I think I were buying a diaper bag today, I'd get the Swag Bag, by JJ Cole. http://jjcolecollections.com/swag-bag. Right now I've got the Sling Tote from Fleurville and love it. http://fleurville.com/product/sling-tote. But you can definitely find others that are less diaper-bag-looking.
Speaking for Tim - if you want him to share in the responsibilities of diaper changes in public (i.e. @ church), choose wisely. Of course, Tim always did seem like a purse sort of guy ;) "It's a man purse!"
I don't use diaper bags very often, they are usually so big and bulky. I haven't had to carry around bottles, so my bigger purses work just fine with diapers, wipes and snacks. I really only use my diaper bag for church. I am with Scot, choose carefully, I have had to keep a baby on more than one occasion because of my big pink suitcase. :)
I like Reese Li. I've only bought their "mess-ups" cuz their cheaper, but I love them. Congrats by the way! :)
I bought a cheap-o diaper bag from Babies-R-Us (well, at least the cheapest they had which was like $30. I still think that's expensive because I'm cheap) that I used for awhile, but now I just use big o' purses. I hated my diaper bag. I like purses because you don't have to constantly switch between diaper bags and purses, know what I mean? And I'd rather spend a lot of money on a purse than a diaper bag.
I also have the Sling Tote from Fleurville and love it. I'm still using it too. It's got lots of pockets and room for everything I need. The Eddie Bauer one I had for Brady was too big and I was finished with it sooner. I know you're a purse girl, so maybe one that looks more like a purse would be better for you. I do get compliments on my diaper bag though.
